Dubspot // How To Make A Mixtape / 6 Basic Steps by DJ Shiftee

“Much like a cat to be skinned or a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup to be eaten, there are many ways to make a mixtape. There are different strokes for different folks, different eggs with different yolks, different angles: acute, obtuse, this run-on sentence was brought to you by Dr. Seuss.

What I’m going to present here is my own typical way of constructing a mixtape. I’m not calling other approaches stupid, or saying other methods’ mamas so fat when they put on a red dress people yell, “Hey, Kool Aid!” This isn’t my way or the highway. This is: here’s my highway. Come take a drive. […]” - via Dubspot

CLR Podcast # 155 // Silent Servant

“The Central American born dj and producer has performed worldwide in clubs from Berlin, Los Angeles to Osaka. He is closely connected to the Sandwell District label and is currently working on a full length LP for Hospital Productions.

His Remix of Planetary Assault System´s “Bell Blocker” is going to be released this month on Ostgut Ton. Silent Servant describes his sound as a reinterpretation of early ’80s post-punk electronics, paired with the deep, metallic sounds of Basic Channel and Downwards. The present 2 hour mix was recently recorded live and in one take in the Harbor City / Los Angeles.” - CLR

Techno Therapy Podcast # 005 // Forward Strategy Group

Techno Therapy unsheathes a new set of weapons for the year 2012. Apart of the 2nd phase the London based record label introduce darker techno sounds leading on from the labels foundation in techno influenced house music. After rocking London during 2011 with a string of amazing warehouse parties and releases, the label mentions ‘it’s the only way to go, keeping things as underground and true to the London scene as possible’.

Forward Strategy Group a collection of two veteran DJ’s from the squat party scene of the nineties have recently seen their talents recognized by Chris Liebing who exhibited them on the famous CLR podcast earlier this year. Techno Therapy follow with this installment of audio goods, a 70 minute continuous mix getting the party people warmed up for what is expected from their 3 hour appearance at ‘Techno Therapy’s 1st Anniversary Party’ in FEBRUARY 2012.
