2 Bit Thugs - Half Hour Hype Vol. 1 - 3

"2 Bit Thugs smashed onto the dance scene with their trademark ‘Gangster House’ sound blending HipHop vocals with booming house beats all backed by turntable trickery. They were quickly snapped up by newly born label ‘A New Hope Records’ and soon found their tracks in the DJ bags of Jack Beats, Barry Ashworth, DJ Yoda, Deekline, Will Bailey & DJ Zinc. Radio support followed with Annie Nightingale, KissySellOut & Eddy Temple Morris all playing the duo’s productions.

2009 saw the Thugs go back to their roots with a more broken beat approach to their sets mixing Garage, Dubstep, Breakbeat, Hip Hop, House and D&B for a much more bass rumbling, floor shaking show with quick mixes, edits & their unique scratching all on 4 decks & 2 mixers. They were soon selected to play peak time slots at Tignesfest (France), Glade & Aeon Festival showcasing the heavy beats & rudeboy basslines they have become famous for.

Last year saw the birth of 2 Bit Thugs own blog and label; a central hub for the pair to release their own records, preview their famous ReRub series, give away tracks & keep fans & friends updated with everything happing in the Thugs world. 2010 was a step up for the duo with performances at both Secret Garden Party & Bestival, support from Diplo, Laurent Garnier, DJ Icey, Baobinga, Tayo, remixes for Dub Pistols, Slyde, Sporty-O & Deeklines Top 20 Hit ‘I Don’t Smoke’, a feature in DJ Mag and a ‘Top Ten’ mix of XFM featuring no less than 66 tracks!

2011 is already in full swing with the studio sessions lasting days on end! Remixes for Husky Rescue (Catskills Records) and another for Dub Pistols are on their way as well as a barrage of original material all still to come will see 2 Bit Thugs live up to the hype being built around them.” - 2 bit thugs
